Is this trip right for you?
We will visit places that are at high altitude. Some people may suffer from altitude sickness, it can affect anyone regardless of fitness level or age. However our tour leaders will share ways to mitigate symptoms such as staying hydrated and limiting alcohol intake.
There will be lots of exploring so you will need to be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time. A moderate level of fitness is required however let us know your needs and we have plenty of ways to adjust the tour to you.
There will be early mornings for us to get to our activities on time.
Some of the roads can be windy and bumpy.
You will need to bring suitable clothing for trekking. You need hiking boots, comfortable outdoor clothing and warm waterproof gear.
The Amazon rainforest can have a lot of insects including mosquitoes, be sure to bring strong insect repellent for this part of the trip.
We go on a small boat on Lake Titicaca and stay in very basic accommodation during the homestay.
The style of this trip is rated as standard, this means that for hotels we will be staying in three star accommodation. Upgrade to 4 or 5 star hotels is possible, though not in every location.
